DROPBOX LEARNING MATERIALS FOR TECHNOVATION

Technovation Girls:

Technovation Girls equips young women (ages 8-18) to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. With the support of volunteer mentors and parents, girls work in teams to code mobile apps that address real-world problems.

40+ hours of materials here https://technovationchallenge.org/curriculum-intro

App Inventor:

For complete beginners, we support the use of MIT App Inventor. It is an intuitive, visual programming environment that allows everyone FOR FREE – even children – to build fully functional apps for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.

Open App Inventor here http://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu/

Android Companion App here http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/ai2/setup-device-wifi.html

No Android? Use Emulator here http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/ai2/setup-emulator.html

Combining two App Inventor Projects AIMerger-Documentation-AI2

With special thanks to a Microsoft Giving Campaign volunteering day,
we were provided a team of software engineers whose expertise delivered
Thunkable and App Inventor tutorials to address common project challenges
facing early app developers in our programming.

These included bar code scanning, text-to-speech, maps, and database
functions. See micro-site here.

Java for Android, React Native and Swift (including Swift Playgrounds)

For those who have completed at least one functioning app on App Inventor, we support pursuing further app development learning on the above.
