Teens’ Experiences

We ask all of our participants to blog and/or keep project diaries during the program.

When girls are users of technology but are not involved in the build of that technology, their perspectives, likes and dislikes are not incorporated into the design and it then does not provide what they want or need.

I finally feel like I’m being seen, just spending time with all these amazing people who really get me.” — Teen-Turn Alumna

By experiencing hands on, through Teen-Turn and its partners, what it is to contribute to the very technology they use, girls can better understand how important it is that they have a say in how it is developed as well as learn to see themselves working in technology career environments, which can be fun, exciting and empowering.
