This Career Paths day will begin with a hands-on CV Clinic. Get
ready to go into break-out sessions with BearingPoint's team of
volunteers to work together on CVs -- your job hunts will thank
you!
The afternoon session will feature a panel of Women in Tech, all
from different backgrounds ready to share their experiences and
and answer questions about what it's really like to work at a
company like BearingPoint.
Who are we, anyway? Let us introduce ourselves before we meet you!
Sylvia Wan, Technology Analyst – I am a Software Developer, currently working in a team delivering Continuous Integration solutions. I studied Computer Science International in TUD City Campus and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2019. I joined BearingPoint remotely in Autumn of 2020. I had no prior technical work experience after college, but BearingPoint allowed me to kick-start my career in the tech field. As a developer, you get to code and work with new interesting tools and software in various of different projects. Every day is never the same, you get to take on new developing tasks and solve interesting problems. The best thing is – you can be as creative as you want when solving any problems!
Sarah Noonan, Senior Business Consultant – I currently work as Product Owner on a technology project. This means that I work closely with the client to understand their requirements, and then translate these requirements into tangible pieces of work for the technical team to develop and test. I love the fast-paced nature of the project, and have really enjoyed working with international colleagues and a multidisciplinary team. I previously studied Civil and Environmental engineering, before moving into tech two and a half years ago.
Ciara Gardiner, Technology Consultant – I am a Software Tester, specialising in Automated testing. Following an undergraduate in History and Russian, I completed a Masters in Computer Science at the University of Bristol. After spending time travelling, I began my career in software testing with a small UK-based consultancy, where I worked for a few years before joining Bearing Point in September 2021. I love software testing because it requires a high-level understanding of projects as well as the ability to get in and write code. I’m passionate about projects having the correct test data for their needs and understanding how they can create and use data to thoroughly test their solution.
Sean Fitzgerald, HR Manager – I have 15 years experience in recruitment and talent acquisition across tech, consulting, in-house and agency. Sourcing enthusiast and highly passionate about all things recruitment and technology. I believe strongly in action-oriented servant leadership, diversity, inclusion & belonging for all.
